In this one day programme, your students will:

 

 

 Experience  the plight of women in the late 19th and early 20th century

 

 Discover the difference between  Suffragist & Suffragette

 

Sing Suffrage Songs & Join Women's Marches

 

 Meet tireless campaigner, Millicent Fawcett, President of the National Union of Women’s Suffrage Societies.

 

 Follow Emmeline Pankhurst as she founds the notorious Women's Social & Political Union, organises mass demonstrations and experiences imprisonment in Holloway Prison

 

 Journey with the women of the WSPU from peaceful protest to militant action:

breaking windows, setting fire to buildings and going on hunger strike

 

 Find out how these political prisoners were kept in solitary confinement and force fed on government orders
