ANNE BOLEYN & the TUDOR COURT
One day programme by Flourish designed to give students an exciting, immersive experience of Tudor Times through the turbulent life of Anne Boleyn and her experiences at court.
Sir Thomas Wyatt and Anne Boleyn tell the life story of Henry VIII's second wife through performance and drama workshop, giving students an interactive experience of life at the Renaissance Court of Henry VIII.
As well as taking part in Anne Boleyn’s story, students find out about Katherine of Aragon, Jane Seymour, Henry VIII, his daughters Mary and Elizabeth, Cardinal Wolsey and other key figures from Henry VIII’s court.
Subjects covered include: Hierarchy in the Henry VIII's Court, Courtly Language of Flattery & Poetry, Tudor Dancing, Courtly Pastimes, The Reformation, Tudor Costume, Henry VIII's Love Letters, Politics of Court Life and Tudor Music.
PERFORMANCE
Anne Boleyn is played by Flourish Actor, Julie Jackson & Sir Thomas Wyatt is portrayed by large hand puppet (manipulated by Julie). Characters are dressed in carefully researched accurate Tudor (Henrician) Costume. The Performance is interspersed with Drama Workshop Activities.
DRAMA WORKSHOP
Guided by Flourish Actor, Julie Jackson, students play the members of Henry VIII's Court, discover what life is like at court and explore the importance of the king, courtiers and policitians in Anne Boleyn's Story.
